We are a self-help organisation, dedicated to providing all types of educational, creative and leisure activities for older people, at minimum cost.
|
The main aim of the U3A is to help members spend their time usefully and pleasurably in pursuing old and new interests with like-minded people, and lending a hand to keep this self-help organisation flourishing.

Why university ?
The term University is used in its original meaning: A group of people devoted to the common activity of learning.
Why Third Age ?
The First Age is childhood. The Second Age is full employment and responsibility. The Third Age is retirement - a time of creativity, fulfilment and enjoyment.
Who Teaches ?
The members teach each other. “Who teaches learns ......... who learns, teaches.”

What subjects and activities are available?
The number of subjects and activities on offer is only limited by the number of members willing to lead or “convene” a group. We have many groups covering a wide range of interests.
The atmosphere is friendly and informal, no exams, no assessments, and most groups meet during the day.
If your interest is not on our list, we will help you start a new group

|
The best way to form new friendships is to join a group: it’s easy.
|
Membership runs from April to March, and it costs - just £10 per person per year.
For details, please see the “Contacts” page.
|
|
Each month, guest speakers talk on a variety of subjects, some serious, and some not so serious.
There’s tea and biscuits, and the meeting is also a social event for members. Of course we talk (briefly) about U3A business.
If you think you may be interested in joining us, then please come on a first Tuesday, about 2.15!
|
Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 2.30pm at Chepstow Drill Hall.
There is a Pay-And-Display car park next to the Drill Hall. There is another Pay-And-Display car park below the castle, which is just a short walk away.
